Sunday Spotlight – Amanda’s Beautiful Ceremonies

This weeks Sunday Spotlight is Amanda Beautiful Ceremonies

Where are you based & what areas do you cover?
Based in Essex but willing to travel worldwide

What services does your business offer?
Primarily unique and personal wedding ceremonies but also baby namings, vow renewals, house blessings, pet ceremonies and other ceremonies.
What 3 words would you say would describe your business?
Amazing, unique, special
For couples booking your category of business what would you say is the most important thing for them to look for?
A connection with the celebrant, your celebrant will become your soulmate and support you on your wedding journey. Its important you gel so they can really create the ceremony that says everything about you as a couple. I would also check the celebrant is professionally trained and is insured.
What makes you most excited about weddings?
Everything! Creating beautiful ceremonies that make people smile, laugh and shed a tear for all the right reasons…and then seeing the joy of everyone present. Its really special to see the power of love and intense emotion in the couples eyes as they face each other as the ceremony proceeds, the intimate and personal vows are the real wows!

What would be your most important piece of advice to couples just starting with wedding planning?
Everyone will have opinions and advice but its your day so have the wedding you want, exactly as you want it. Just because nobody has done it the way you want that doesn’t matter, do it your way. Look at celebrant ceremonies before you book a registrar. In some cases for the same price as a registrar coming to your venue, you could have a weekday registry ceremony and then a celebrant ceremony at your venue. Work with suppliers with a can do attitude, who genuinely seem excited to work with you, and who really listen to you. Have a vision of your ideal day first and foremost, create a vision board or scrapbook full if ideas, magazine cut outs etc. Think about your budget, follow brides on social media for ideas and also to share your anxieties, ask for opinions etc. And of course I would say a celebrant led ceremony is a must..but then I might be a bit biased on that one!

At the end of a busy wedding, how do you wind down?
Being a part of a beautiful ceremony is actually really relaxing so I tend to sit with a glass of wine and reflect on the day and think about the lovely couple and the exciting life ahead of them.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My father who always encouraged me to follow my dreams, told me I could do anything I wanted to if I put my mind to it, and told me not to worry but to enjoy my life and just always give everything 100%.

What is your most popular service/item/product?

Its hard to say, different people like different things. Handblessings and unity candle ceremonies are popular as are sand ceremonies and hand fastings. Details of each ceremony are listed on my website

Do you have any current offers to share with readers?

Money back guarantee on deposits if wedding plans are cancelled..certain time constraints apply dependent on wedding date.

Our story:“Celebrancy has captured my heart and soul, let me share this passion with you, and rest assured a professional, relaxed and unforgettable ceremony is guaranteed. Allow me the honour of ensuring it exceeds your expectations, is full of awe and wonder and is impossible to forget. Why compromise on your dreams, you deserve a memorable ceremony that takes your breath away and truly reflects you and your love story, so call me; life is too short to miss this opportunity.”
Amanda, your celebrant soulmate for an amazing, intimate and personal ceremony.

Amanda Wheal wedding officiant creates your ceremony exactly as you want it, a beautiful expression of your love, you choose the words, the setting and the time, for an unforgettable day. Amanda will listen and make suggestions, she has many resources available, together with a caring, friendly and open minded personality. As well as the many traditional ceremonies there are alternatives, from the sublime and sentimental, to the stunning and surprising. Your tailor made service can include religious or spiritual elements or be totally non-religious. Unique personal elements are welcomed, can write your own vows, and include song lyrics, personal readings, family traditions or special rituals, there are no rules or limitations!

I offer 3 different package options as detailed on my website and each one has different enhancements to add to your ceremony including handblessings, unity candle or sand ceremony, jumping the broom and hand fasting.

This is how it works:

We get to know each other, you tell me the sort of things you want in your ceremony and then we choreograph it together. I like to meet you in person as part of the process as and when is mutually convenient.

I write the ceremony (and vows if you wish) and you can approve it or ask me to change it until it is 100% as you want it, it has to be perfect for you. I have lots of resources and ideas but the most important input is yours, if you know exactly what you want that’s great but if not I have resources and ideas to share.

The ceremony we create will be personalised and therefore totally unique, trust me nothing comes close.

Also with a celebrant ceremony there is no limit on location, it can be indoors or outdoors, in your garden, somewhere special to you or a set venue, but wherever you choose I will also liaise with your venue and make sure everything in terms of your ceremony are how you want them and I will arrange a rehearsal there if you want it preferably on the day of your wedding.

We talk through every aspect from your entrance into the venue to when you leave after your wedding, this can include walking down the aisle, seating of family members involved in your ceremony and so on and so forth.

On the day I generally arrive at least 30 mins before the ceremony just to check in to make sure you and your partner are ok and everything is prepared just as you want it. I am there for as long as you want me, I don’t ever plan 2 ceremonies in one day, as I want to be totally focused on the couple that day.

So if you want something really special on your wedding day give me a call, let’s talk

Adventurous Elopements in Spain

Sunset boat elopements in Spain

Need wedding ideas? Want a wedding that takes you away from it all, without any stress?  How about a sunset boat elopement on Spain’s Costa Tropical! Leave your guests behind and escape just the two of you to one of the most romantic ceremony locations in the sunshine.

Have your wedding whenever you want

Because your marriage and your wedding are two totally different things, you can actually contract your legal marriage in your own country before you go off on your destination wedding elopement, or when you get back from your ceremony in the sunshine.

As long as you do contract your marriage with your registrar at some stage (it can be as simple as saying 40 words plus your names and signing the register with 2 witnesses) then there is nothing that says that you have to have your wedding celebrations at the same time. Nothing.

Boat weddings on the Costa Tropical

Spain’s lesser known Costa Tropical is only one hour from Malaga airport and one hour from Granada airport. With whitewashed fishing villages hugging the seafront and vast snow covered mountains behind, it truly is the real Spain. And yes, at certain times of the year you can ski in the morning and sunbathe in the afternoon!

Marina del Este is a small harbour near to Almunecar and home to a pretty vintage fishing boat that can cater for up to 40 guests for a small wedding or a luxury catamaran for the most romantic elopement wedding ceremony you can imagine.

Celebrant led ceremony and sunset cruise

Your ceremony will be officiated by a local English speaking wedding celebrant who will include whatever wording, traditions or rituals are special to you.

You will then have the option of a romantic onboard wedding breakfast and a sunset cruise out into the bay to go dolphin watching during what the local photographers here call, “The Golden Hour” – to take the most beautiful photos.

Pandemic effect on weddings going forward.

Thank you to The Wedding Florist for this post.

The last few months has been a hugely stressful time for brides and their families.   Covid 19 Stopping weddings for a while has forced couples to re look at the type of weddings planned and what getting married really means to them.

It would seem going forward we could be about to notice a change in the wedding industry.  BC (before Covid)  Venues were having a huge impact on weddings and how they looked.which has made for an eggs all in one basket situation.
Most venues have recommended suppliers who in turn rely on the venue.
During lockdown some couples opted for a marriage rather than a wedding and a seperate party at a later date.  Weddings became much smaller.
We could be on the edge of change where the marriage and reception are separate and that the couple choose individual unique suppliers recommended by friends and family.
Going forward I feel couples will want more flexible options  from venues and suppliers   This time has taught us life can change quickly and what is important is really the couple and life after the wedding.
I think this is an opportunity for the industry to return to a more tradition meaning of weddings which seems to have been taken over by celebrity and instagram.  We as an industry should be able to offer personal ideas and individual solutions which are flexible in the event of a crisis.
This could be the opportunity to make each wedding truly individual and tailored to the couple.
Those working in the wedding industry are a creative bunch and will use this time as an opportunity to re energise the industry.
I work with faux flowers which is becoming a more popular option due to the low stress and the fact in the worst scenario they can be packed away.  They can also be easily moved between venues even if they are on different days.  Intimate family weddings with flowers to keep forever could be the new normal.
